Handcrafted Pendant Necklace designed with Intricate Wire Weaving around a Vintage Black Glass Button with a Shining Golden Hued Square Patterned Finish

$72.00

“Simple Twist of Fate”

The wonderful vintage black glass button chosen for this piece features a square pattern design with a fired-on finish known as Golden Luster. Because each of the little squares is slightly concave, the light causes a lovely shining effect from each individual square. The color of this finish is a coppery/gold and is quite stunning.I would date this button anywhere from the 1940’s, 50’s or 60’s. I can only imagine a sweater or coat embellished with a set of these beauties!

The framing is done with Wire Weaving of very thin antiqued bronze hued wire around copper base wire. The button rests on a frame in the back made with thick brass wire, and the weaving is attached to this. The button’s self glass shank has been carefully ground down and polished. Please view the underside to see this in the photos.

The necklace beading features coiled wire cones, glass beads of a color called “African Sunset”, and faceted tiny hematite stones.

The lobster clasp and ring are both gold filled.

The beading length is 17 1/2”.

The pendant measures 1 5/8” in length by 1” in width.

With the lovely blending of golds, copper, and bronze colors, and the multiple light catching finish of the button, this necklace is sure to please.

Thank you so much for your kind interest !
