When vintage metal buttons are flattened, the raised designs upon them morph into an olde world effect, and they are beautifully transformed. Here, in this design, each earring features two buttons that have been flattened and dapped to a curve and placed against each other front and back.
An interesting and enjoyable feature to the design is that , hanging from three loops, the earrings very gently and slowly turn to and fro slightly.
The earrings are embellished with gold filled rings and lovely white fresh water pearls.
The French Hook ear wires are hand made of gold filled wire and have been hardened in a tumbler for strength. The loops holding the earrings are soldered closed.
Total drop length is 1 1/2”.
The width at the widest point is 3/4”.
The lovely buttons were chosen for their intricate raised filagree pattern that also has symmetry and balance. Please enlarge the photos to see the wonderful pattern. I was fortunate to have four of the same buttons to create the design. This pattern, the lovely burnished gold color, and the dangling pearls come together in elegance.
