Hand- Beaded Pendant Necklace Showcasing Two Antique Buttons
The buttons chosen for this pendant are two antique metal treasures. The larger has a raised brass fanciful design with a lovely green background. The smaller is a wonderful gilded age brass button ( late 1870’s to late 1890’s ). I have noticed through my years of incorporating gilded age buttons, that they are extremely well made, strong, and many have lovely delicate chased etching.
The hand beading is done with very tiny tube shaped glass, malachite stone, hematite stone, sewn on twisted metallic thread, and two larger handsome “illustrated green jasper” stones. The spiral brass beads and the hook and eye closure are handmade. The backing that rests upon the skin is ultra suede and soft and comfortable. Please view the photo of the back. The pendant is light in weight.
The necklace length is 18”.
The pendant measures 1 1/8” at its widest point and 2 “ in length. It has a depth of 3/8” .
Because of the dappled gold hues against rich luxurious greens, I named this piece “The Rainforest Canopy “.
Thank you for your kind interest,
Judy
