Copper Wire Work Earrings with Unique Copper Vintage Buttons
Sometimes the stars align when I am looking for the perfect buttons to go into a copper wire work design. In my stash I came across two buttons actually made of copper with raised relief jazzy vibed squiggles. Cool and so interesting, they made the cut instantly!
The copper wire work includes long coiled tubes, wire weaving, and small copper beading. The copper has been given a warm patina.
The buttons are securely wired onto the wire work. Strong and well crafted , these wonderful buttons could have come from an era of style that appreciated the copper medium in all things art. My best educated guess would be anywhere from the 1950’s, 60’s, or 70’s.
The earrings have a drop length of 1 3/4”.
The earring width at the widest point is 1 1/16”.
The buttons are 5/8” in diameter.
The weight of each earring is ½ ounce.
The handmade French hook ear wires are made with 20 gauge gold filled wire. They have been hardened in a tumbler and the little loops are soldered closed.
Words to describe…Artful, Elegant, Fun.
Thank you for your kind interest !
