Handcrafted Antique and Vintage Button Jewelry Earrings
Fanciful and elegant, these lovely earrings showcase the beauty of vintage and antique metal buttons.
The base button is a flattened and then shaped filigree designed metal button from
the 1960’s , 1970’s. It was manufactured by the button maker called I and K manufacturing , established 1935 , located in Florida, and closed a few decades ago.
The family continues to sell “new” old stock on Etsy under the shop name
WholesaleButtons.
The top button is a Victorian era brass button with an intricate pressed or embossed design. It is securely wired onto the base button using its shank . Please see photo of this strong process.
The embellishment is a chain of brass attached to soldered gold filled rings.
The total drop length is 1 1/8 “ ( 28.57 mm )
The width at the widest point is 15/16 inch ( 23.81 mm)
The handmade ear wires are gold filled.
Beautifully designed old buttons served not only a function but also acted as clothing
jewelry...enhancing the garment with their charm. Here, they get a Round Two as a second opportunity to enhance once again!
